Upcoming Guest Speakers - Spring 2012
The Worship Committee announces future outside speakers who are coming to our congregation this spring. We hope you can join us for these special services.
FEBRUARY 26: Joanna Shenk
Joanna is the author of Widening The Circle: Anabaptist Experiments in Discipleship. She also wrote a recent article in the January 2 issue of Mennonite Weekly Review entitled Deepening Roots in Brooklyn. Hired by Mennonite Church USA as Associate for Inter-church Relations and Communications, she visits and advises Anabaptist-related communities that want to discuss or experience living in a shared community setting. APRIL 14 and 15: Ken Nafziger
Ken is a music professor at Eastern Mennonite University. There will be a hymn sing on Saturday evening, April 14 at 7:00 p.m. here at our church and we invit other local churches to join us. On Sunday morning, April 15 will be Music Sunday with Ken leading our worship service. Ken is noted for his leading the Music and Worship Retreat at Laurelville each January.
APRIL 22: Kevin King
Kevin is Executive Director of Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS), the agency organizes volunteers to clean up and fix up communities after flood, tornadoes, and other weather-related disasters. Kevin was an active member of our congregation when he was a student at Penn State in the late 1970's/early 1980's. |
